Questions people ask
- Can I use jaggery instead of sugar every day?
- Yes. Jaggery is a natural sweetener and can be used in place of refined sugar in tea, coffee, milk and cooking. Our powder measures spoon-for-spoon like sugar, so recipes need no adjustment.
- Why is jaggery from your area special?
- The Muzaffarnagar belt of western Uttar Pradesh has the soil and climate that grow dense, sweet sugarcane. We buy from family farms there and crush it on a village kolhu rather than blending cane from wherever the season is cheapest.
- Is it suitable for children and the whole family?
- Yes. It is a single-ingredient natural sweetener with nothing added (no colour, no preservatives, no chemicals), and it is vegetarian and vegan.
- Why does the colour change from one jar to the next?
- Because it is unrefined and unbleached. Cane varies by field and by season, and we do not add anything to force a uniform colour. A lighter or darker jar is normal, not a defect.
- My jaggery powder has hardened. What do I do?
- Jaggery naturally draws moisture from the air. Keep the jar tightly closed in a cool, dry place and always use a dry spoon. If it clumps, break it up with a spoon. It is perfectly good to use.
- Should I choose the powder or the cubes?
- Powder dissolves in seconds and measures like sugar, so it suits tea, coffee, baking and cooking. Cubes are easier for a quick cup of chai or milk and for prasad. Many households keep both, which is why we offer the combo.
